This was the culmination of many months of fundraising activities organised mainly by a small group of ladies while most of the of the logistics and hardware of the day was provided by local farmers, many other people supplying technical support
The party was formally opened at 2pm by Mr Gareth Roberts The assistant director for education at North Lincolnshire District Council
Shirley McKeswick installed Jacqui Waite as the Rose Queen
Many villages dressed in period costume during the afternoon and early evening residents both young and old were entertained by a variety of performers.
The highlight of the afternoon was a communal tea party the site of 450 people all seated together was history in the making
As you can see a memorable day was enjoyed by villages of all ages was entertained by the Burgundy Street Jazzmen
Fascinated by Orlando the Magician the antics of Elmer the Clown and the daring feats of juggling and fire eating by the Earthbound Misfits
Franco and Friends serenaded people during cream teas and the festivities concluded with Barn Dancing to the music of the Polkadots
