Arrival of our New Vicar and details of services in Eastoft

Many of you may already know that the Diocese of Sheffield has appointed a new Priest In Charge for the Marshlands Benefice which includes the Parish of Eastoft.

The Rev. Justine Smith has been a curate in the Brough area following a career in medicine.

Whilst the Diocese secure a permanent home within the Marshlands, Justine will be residing in the School House in Eastoft with her daughter.

Before she can commence her work as Priest In Charge, Justine will need to be licensed by the Bishop Of Sheffield. There will be a licensing service at 7.30pm on Wednesday the 18th May at Whitgift church.

You would be very welcome to attend this service and we hope to make it a very special occasion.

Justine’s first service in the Marshlands will be at Eastoft church where we will be joined by the congregation from Whitgift. Again you are very welcome to attend and meet Justine yourselves.

I’m sure Justine will be making herself know around the village over the next few days and weeks.

The services in Eastoft will be as follows:

Sunday 8th May Holy Communion with the Ven. John Hawley 9.30am

Sunday 22nd May Holy Communion with the Rev. Justine Smith 9.30am

There will also be a united Benefice Service at Swinefleet Church on Sunday the 29th May at 11.00am

If you would like to know more about the church within Eastoft then please do get in contact.
