Playground Update

E.C.W.A have successfully applied for a grant of £13,500 from North Lincolnshire Community Fund to undertake phase 1 of the Eastoft playground redevelopment.

To date the following have been completed:

  • Purchased and installed a Toddler Adventure Playground
  • Wood and bark have been cleared from the site
  • Baby swings have been repaired and replace
  • Junior swings have been repaired and replaced

It has also been a time of extensive liaison with Playdales (the original suppliers of the playground equipment) to replace timbers on the swings, log walk and chain rail that had rotted despite being well within the guarantee period!

The final parts of phase 1 will be to lay a concrete bed with matting at both the entrance to the playground and underneath the swings. This should improve the ground surface in wet weather and remove the need to, annually, top up the bark.

The remaining action will be to replace a porthole on the toddler adventure playground, which has been vandalised, and this will be done from E.C.W.A funds.

E.C.W.A would like to thank residents for their patience and co operation while these redevelopment activities at both the hall and playground are occurring.

In addition E.C.W.A would like to thank the following organisations and volunteers for their support over the last couple of years, behind the scenes, which has enabled us to reach this point today:

  • Eastoft Church of England Primary School
  • Eastoft Parish Council
  • Councillor Trevor Barker
  • Steve and Alan Brown
  • Sue and Mick Hartlebury
  • Mark Curry
  • Paul McCartan
  • William Castledine
  • Norman Bailey
