Eastoft C of E Primary School

This term, Eastoft C of E Primary School have been taking part in a variety of activities and we would like to share them with you.

Sport

This term, we have been participating in lots of sport.
In gymnastics, we learnt how to do many different moves and levelled up when we passed the stages. We get badges and a certificate when we score more than a seven. We have ten weeks of this and the place we do this is at Brumby Gymnastics Gym. There are four coaches and year 3/4 are in group one and two while year 5/6 are in groups three and four.

Another activity that we have taken part is a dodgeball tournament at The Pods. Lots of other schools were there: Luddington and Garthorpe, Barton St Peters, Althorpe and Keadby and Gunness and Burringham. There were lots of games going on at one time. Year 3/4 were playing against 3/4 and the same for year 5/6.

Finally, we attended a hockey tournament. There were the same schools there but this time we went outside of the pods instead of inside. We were playing on AstroTurf and we all got a break and 3 games. However, at the end, whoever won the games would go through to the finals.

Remembrance

During the week commencing 4th November,
we completed activities to learn about remembrance. We created silhouettes; made pencil sketches; baked and decorated biscuits; made our own felt poppies; and held a poppy making workshop for pupils and parents. On Friday 8th November, we held our Remembrance service in school.

Children in Need

On Friday 15th November, we celebrated Children in Need by coming to school in our pyjamas! We took part in the Joe Wicks Big Morning Move Challenge and the Children in Need Duck race. Key Stage 2 children made activities and games for the younger children to play in the afternoon.

Christmas

Eastoft school will have a Merry Christmas this year. We will go to watch Aladdin at the Baths Hall this Christmas. Annie Fanny and Fanny Annie are funny. We will also have also had our Christmas fayre. It will include several stalls: face painting, glitter tattoos, hot chocolate, games, a bake sale and much more! Our Christmas play this year is called ‘Superstar!’. It is about a shy girl that auditions for a Christmas musical.
